woo hoo! went to NUS UCC with timo last night to watch it, worth it for a $5 ticket concert :P
it started with MI for the opening. i didnt know the dancers were representating sea creatures moving on the seabed until timo told me... it was kind of amazing how the girls who were standing on some platform just bent backwards to arch the back and recovering from that by bending forward(not sure how to explain it but go youtube and watch it to know what i mean).
next was a indian dance with a thaipusam theme. instead of the guys carrying the prop representating the real-life big looking metal strucutre, it was the girls who were carrying it, weird right. but i liked the enrgy of the item.
i cant really rmb much of the rest of the dances but i personally felt that cat high's one was overrated. a bit of technique here and there but their steps were really simple i felt. no doubt it was slick but when the audience cheered them on excessively, i really felt that it was overrated. sorry but yea..
hwa chong's chinese dance is indeed remarkable. got concept.storyline. the dance got meaning. it was about a female poet from one of the dynasties. their dance all girls but still very nice
oh and in the toilet of ucc, before the concert started got 1 guy ask me if i got gel cos his hair in a mess, so random right?
